Frequently Asked Questions
‘Frequently’ may be an exaggeration but if any one person asks a question (or if I perceive it as a question) I answer it here.
Can the 'kids' play as separate teams in the same house?
Yes indeed. As long as they have a screen, you can all watch at roughly the same time (same house or on the other side of the world). You can then contact each other using any of the communication systems available to us in the 21st century.
Does it matter if you don't have a printer?
I do have a printer.
Oh, I see what you mean. No, not really. The files are PDF so you can read them on any screen. In fact, rather than costing thousands of trees every week (there’s that delusion again), I prefer you to save paper.
The caveat is that you may want to make notes directly on some of the clues (or the answer forms or tie-break). And I would LOVE you to print the certificate (and promote the game).
If there are two teams in one house do they both need to download a pack?
Well, technically…yes (read the terms and conditions). In reality, no of course not. I would like this to be fair. If you are playing against someone remotely, they should get their own clue pack but, if you’re in the same house…that’s fine by me. May the best team win.
Sorry if you're having problems
I’ve been getting emails from some who have had problems. I’m currently updating the payment and download system. If anything goes wrong, let me know, and I’ll try to fix it.
1. The Clue Pack - Download Limit
One customer (still get a thrill at saying that, there still aren’t too many of you) said they had managed to download the INSTRUCTIONS but when they tried to download the OTHER PAPERWORK, they got a message about REACHING THEIR DOWNLOAD LIMIT.
You only need to download the CLUE-PACK ONCE. It is a ZIP folder. Once opened, ALL the files are inside. There is a download limit set (you can download FOUR TIMES) but you shouldn’t need to download more than once anyway. The limit is simply to prevent passing the download link to other people.
I have tested this again and it works for me. But if you are having problems downloading the Clue-Pack ZIP file, please use the contact form to let me know.
The link online and the link you get emailed are the same. The email link will only work four times as well (again, that’s simply to stop anyone forwarding the link)
2. Log Out - Log In - FINAL VIDEO
I really want you to get access to that CERTIFICATE. Once you’re on that page, you’ll see the link to the denouement video (I may well change this system soon, so apologies if none of this makes sense). But if you’re having any kind of problem getting to that final video, let me know and I will try to sort it for you.
ONCE AGAIN - I'm sorry if anything goes wrong...
My NUMBER ONE PRIORITY (along with figuring out how to promote and actually make some money) is to make sure the game runs smoothly and you have fun playing along.
The last thing I want is for anyone to buy the clue-pack, play the game, have the most fun they have EVER, EVER had (including that time when….) and then get so annoyed when things go wrong they break their own computer screen. If that’s you, I’ll buy you a new computer.*
But I can’t fix things until I know exactly what is wrong so please can you tell me what you did, what happened, if possible what browser you were using, etc. I know that is a bit of a pain but I will truly thank you, my pioneer players. And I really will try to figure out where it is going wrong and sort it out by the time you tell everyone you know they should buy this game.. Promise.
*That was a joke. As much as I’d like to, I will not accept any responsibility to buy you a new computer. Please do not hit your screen.
Problem Info Form
I’d be really grateful if you could tell me exactly what went wrong or (here’s hoping) what went RIGHT.
I will to get back to you ASAP (or as soon as I see there’s a new email) because I know how frustrating it is if you’re having problems mid game.
But if you can include as much info as you can, I’d be grateful.
I want to improve. Thanks for you patience and understanding.**
